The 2020 JJ Confuron Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots is a beautifully poised Burgundy that marries the power of Nuits-Saint-Georges with the sensual refinement of Vosne-Romanée. Aromas of black cherry, wild raspberry, violet, crushed stone and sweet spice rise effortlessly from the glass. The palate is concentrated yet remarkably elegant, framed by silky tannins and vibrant acidity. Layers of dark fruit, forest floor, licorice and mineral tension unfold toward a long, precise finish. Still youthful and structured, this is a serious Premier Cru with excellent cellaring potential over the next 10–15 years.
