Tasted single blind – Light gold in the glass; nose of lemon + oak, so I immediately thought chardonnay. When tasting, I was sure it wasn’t sauvignon blanc, but still not sure if it was chardonnay. Others noted a reductive quality (I don’t know how to taste for that). I called a white burgundy, but couldn’t get any more specific than that. I was excited to learn what it was, after just reading Neal Martin’s article on Chateau Palmer a few weeks ago. Really fun to taste, and very nice wine.
Aroma: Stone fruits, lime, thyme, melon on the nose.
Palate: Dry, high acidity, on the palate ripe lemon, floral, honey, white flowers. Medium melon finish Medium body, med+ finish. Refreshing and a bit oil.
Grape Varieties: Muscadelle 34%, Lauzet 33 %, and Sauvignon Gris 33 %
